The article is devoted to the solution of third degree equations arising in connection with the transition of elementary mathematics to the "updated program". Even before the transition to elementary mathematics in this program, third degree equations were considered to a certain extent. However, we believe that the transition of school mathematics to a new content will give a new impetus to this situation. Therefore, the article considers a new way to solve third degree equations with "Cordana formula" and the types of problems based on it. The article is intended for specialists in the field of methods of teaching mathematics, teachers, doctoral students and undergraduates.
