Abstract

This article is an exploratory review of the research examining out of school learning and performance in English as a Foreign Language courses at secondary schools in Kazakhstan. Trilingual policy implementation and limitations of the current English language training at secondary schools are discussed. The opportunities and potential limitations of out-of-school English language training are explored.
